BONDERITE® L-CA 395
BONDERITE® L-CA 395 is a water-based insulating coating for small- to medium-surface-area castings in aluminum permanent mold applications.
BONDERITE® L-CA 395, also referred to as DAG 395, is a state-of-the-art, water-based diecasting lubricant specially formulated to enhance the die casting process. It incorporates refractory pigments that are crucial in providing outstanding insulating performance, particularly during aluminum permanent mold casting operations. The product offers controlled solidification of molten metal to improve die fill and enhance the quality of the castings produced. This insulating coating is ideally suited for small- to medium-surface-area castings. BONDERITE® L-GP PRODAG is an indispensable partner to BONDERITE® L-CA 395, functioning as a graphite release agent that is applied over BONDERITE® L-CA 395 to improve overall performance and the mold coating's longevity. This combination of products helps maintain efficient operations and reduces downtime in metal casting applications. BONDERITE® L-CA 395 can be brushed or sprayed for a more uniform coating. The recommended starting dilution is 1:4 product to water.

Water-based casting lubricant with refractory pigments Superior insulating properties Promotes die fill and good surface finish Provides solidification control of the molten metal Protects against die erosion Nontoxic, nonflammable, and smokeless
Problems Solved
Casting operators commonly deal with incomplete die fill, especially in problem areas such as corners and sharp edges. These issues can compromise the structural integrity of castings, necessitating frequent rework or excess scrap. Furthermore, the premature wear and tear of dies, leading to short die life, can affect productivity and increase operational costs. Casting lubricants that produce fumes or smoke that permeates the workspace can present health hazards for workers, compelling the need for effective smoke-management solutions to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
Low-pressure die casting is an affordable and efficient method to produce quality aluminum casts. Learn about this casting process and how the Henkel BONDERITE® lubricants support low-pressure casting.
