BONDERITE® L-FG F 31M ACHESON
BONDERITE® L-FG F 31M ACHESON is a high-performing, graphite forging die lubricant that provides superior lubricity and release for hot, warm, and precision forging.
BONDERITE® L-FG F 31M ACHESON (also known as DELTAFORGE F-31M) is one of the most widely used forging die lubricants in the world because of its unique graphite particle size and distribution, as well as its specialty stabilizer and binder system. These attributes produce a forging die lubricant with exceptional lubricity and release properties, faster surface wetting, higher dilution ratios, and longer die life. Its special stabilizer and binder system prevents separation and settling in the concentrate, resulting in a uniform coating and consistent performance. It is an ideal die lubricant solution for difficult press work that requires superior lubricity and highly automated operations, including hot, warm, and precision forging processes. Additionally, BONDERITE® L-FG F 31M ACHESON is effective across a wide temperature range and is water based, odorless, and smokeless, which creates improved working conditions.
Specifications

Features & Benefits
Water-based, graphite forging die lubricant Fine graphite particle size High stability to prevent separation and settling Proprietary binder system High lubricity Can deposit thin, consistent films on the die surface Suitable for hot, warm, and precision forging Film formation on hot dies up to 371°C (700°F) Superb release on challenging press work and automated operations Better part quality Less billet material is needed Fewer stickers, reducing press downtime Prolonged die life Lowest die cost per forging Less scrap and rework Lower product usage and less waste disposal Effective lubrication across a wide temperature range
Problems Solved
The separation or settling of graphite in forging lubricants can compromise the uniformity of the coating on the forging die. This inconsistency affects the lubricity and release properties and can result in stuck forgings that exacerbate press downtime. Inefficiencies in production are thus heightened, increasing operational costs. Furthermore, inadequate lubrication can result in a shorter die life, translating to more frequent replacements and increased resource expenditure. Poor lubrication and release also contribute to diminished part quality, leading to increased scrap and rework, which amplifies both material usage and waste disposal concerns. These issues can compound during difficult press work or automated forging processes.
Applications
Hot forging Warm forging steel Precision forging Hot forging powder metal
