CAP-504-0.2 is a cellulose acetate propionate (CAP) with high hydroxyl functionality. It is commonly used as a film former in printing inks and nail polish.
CAP-504-0.2 is a mixed cellulose ester with high propionate content and the highest hydroxyl level of the CAP range. Cellulose acetate propionates (CAP) provide the durability of a cellulose acetate and the solubility of a cellulose acetate butyrate. The hydroxyl functionality provides even more solubility as this CAP is soluble in alcohols. They are recommended film formers and resin modifiers for inks, OPVs, plastic and paper coatings. Propionates are effective in dispersing pigments and stable to UV light. They do not react with dyes, fluorescent colors, or metallic pigments.

Eastman cellulose esters can be formulated into inks as the main film former, co-resin, or additive to improve appearance, performance, and productivity.
