Overview
Solus™ 1475 is a cellulose-based resin used in UV-curable and solvent-based inks and overprint varnishes. In these formulations, which may include digital, gravure, or screen printing inks, Solus™ 1475 provides high pigment dispersion capability, reduces dry-to-touch times, and provides excellent block resistance. It is soluble in numerous solvents commonly used in the aforementioned formulations. Since it has relatively high viscosity compared to other Solus™ grades meant for inks, it forms very strong and tough films but maintains balance to provide a large degree of flexibility. Solus™ 1475 features good compatibility with several cross-linking resins and promotes high UV stability and excellent early-cure film durability due to a sharp rise in early-cure viscosity. Solus™ 1200 is made from bio content greater than 35%, making it a powerful additive made from renewable resources.
