CA-398-30 is a high molecular weight cellulose acetate polymer typically used as a membrane material and as a resin modifier for molded and extruded parts.
CA-398-30 cellulose acetate polymer that can be used as a film forming resin in coatings or as a modifying resin in extruded or molded plastic. Coatings made from CA-398-30 have excellent resistance to chemicals, outstanding durability, and unlike nitrocellulose based coatings will resist yellowing when exposed to UV light. This makes CA-398-30 an ideal film former for challenging coating and sealing applications. CA-398-30 is also used to cast membranes used in liquid and gas filtration. Cellulose acetate membranes have an inherent ability to separate CO2 and CH4. This makes them ideal for natural gas filtration. In addition, membranes composed of CA-398-30 are remarkably resistant to fouling and can be cleaned using harsh methods including the use of chlorine. This makes these membranes ideal for use in filtration with a high risk of fouling including waster water treatment, beverage clarification, desalination, and dairy processing.
