Capstone™ ST-500
Capstone™ ST-500 is a water-based, high-performance fluoropolymer used as the active ingredient in penetrating sealers for acid-sensitive porous mineral surfaces. It provides a durable protective barrier to oil, water, and stains.
Capstone™ ST-500 is a water-based, fluorochemical dispersion designed to be used as a repellent in VOC-free penetrating sealers for stone, unglazed tile, grout, terra cotta, concrete, granite, brick, and more. Capstone™ ST-500 provides a durable, non-film-forming, protective barrier to oil and water that improves stain resistance and allows for easy cleanup. It has far superior oil repellency and stain resistance compared to common silicone-based sealers.
Capstone™ ST-500 should be diluted to 1.5%–2.5% actives with deionized water and can be applied with a brush, mop, roller, or sprayer, including aerosol spray cans. The surface being treated should be thoroughly wetted and allowed to dry at ambient temperature for 15 to 30 minutes. The excess liquid should then be removed.
Capstone™ ST-500 is approved only for indoor use.
All samples and purchases of Capstone for new projects and applications must first be evaluated for approval by ChemPoint and Chemours.

Capstone® fluorosurfactants & fluororepellents were some of the first short-chain alternatives commercialized so Chemours has lots of experience helping their customers reformulate.
Capstone™ fluorosurfactants and repellents were introduced as sustainable replacements that meet the goals of the U.S. EPA 2010/15 PFOA Stewardship Program. They are based on short-chain molecules that cannot break down to PFOA or PFOS in the environment.
