BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON is a solvent-based graphite dispersion that lubricates and coats various substrates exposed to extremely high temperatures.
BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON (also known as DAG 2412) is a formulation of concentrated graphite dispersed in a mineral spirit solvent. It is engineered for use as a lubricant coating in demanding high-temperature applications to safeguard various surfaces from wear and galling. This product's high-heat resistance and minimal residue make it an optimal choice for use as a gasket coating, ensuring effective sealing and facilitating easy release, which are crucial for maintaining the longevity and integrity of components under thermal stress.
Moreover, BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON finds extensive application in foundry maintenance processes, where it acts as a protective layer, helping to reduce the frequency of maintenance interventions. It is also ideally suited for brazing and welding stop-off coatings, providing a formidable barrier that prevents the flow of molten metal to unintended areas.

In industrial environments, stuck or difficult-to-release gaskets can cause significant delays and operational inefficiencies. As temperatures rise, the dry film coating may break down, diminishing its effectiveness and reliability as a protective measure. This issue becomes particularly problematic in high-temperature applications, such as brazing and welding, where wear and galling of components are persistent challenges. This phenomenon, characterized by adhesion between sliding surfaces, leads to increased friction and material degradation as metals are subjected to intense heat. This compromises operational efficiency and leads to higher maintenance costs due to the increased need for repairs and replacements. Equipment failure and damage of components under thermal stress are critical concerns, particularly in sectors where heat resistance is paramount.
