BONDERITE® L-CA 633 ACHESON is an insulating and lubricating coating for low-pressure and permanent mold casting processes.
BONDERITE® L-CA 633 ACHESON (previously known as DAG 633) is a boron nitride, water-based lubricating and insulating coating intended for low-pressure and permanent mold casting operations with non-ferrous alloys. The tenacious coating allows for superior solidification, mold release, and metal flow performance. It is particularly beneficial on molds in high-temperature areas where conventional casting lubricants are prone to failure. It should be spray applied in thin, multiple coats to a coating thickness of 1 to 3 mil. This technique will provide a durable, smooth coating and prevent peeling, flaking, and premature failure.

Good insulation properties, providing a 9.47 W/mK thermal conductivity value at 2 mil
Suitable for aluminum and magnesium low-pressure and permanent mold casting
There are several challenging issues encountered in high-temperature metal casting applications. One of the primary problems is the sticking of castings and adherence of molten metal to the mold. This sticking can lead to significant downtime, impacting operational efficiency and die life. It can also increase the occurrence of incomplete die fill, resulting in defects and poor surface finish, which can lead to costly rework.
