BONDERITE® L-CA 634 is a boron nitride protective coating that protects iron and steel molds during permanent mold casting operations.
BONDERITE® L-CA 634, also recognized in the industry as DAG 634, is a sophisticated boron nitride coating specifically engineered to serve as a lubricant and protective barrier for iron and steel molds used in permanent mold die casting applications. This product excels in offering exceptional mold release properties, thereby facilitating the smooth removal of parts, particularly in challenging scenarios characterized by low draft angles. Moreover, the coating efficiently prevents heat degradation of the mold, thus extending its service life and reducing operational downtime, which is crucial for maintaining production efficiency. BONDERITE® L-CA 634's white hue ensures minimal coating transfer onto the ingots, preserving the quality and appearance of the cast parts. This product should be spray applied, and several coats may be required to achieve the desired thickness of 1 to 3 mils. Molds should be clean and preheated to 149°C–204°C (300°F–400°F) prior to application.
