BONDERITE® L-GP 2404 ACHESON is a solvent-based, graphite lubricant that imparts dry film lubrication and fluid film formation for various applications.
BONDERITE® L-GP 2404 ACHESON (previously known as DAG 2404) is a graphite dispersion in white spirit that evaporates upon application to form a tenacious film with outstanding lubricity. The adherent film reduces metal-on-metal contact to lower friction, provide parting, and prevent wear. It can lubricate components up to 400 °C in air and above 1200 °C in reducing or inert environments. There is no low-temperature limit, giving the product wide temperature applicability. Additionally, it demonstrates excellent penetration characteristics, penetrating into closely woven fabrics, fine-pore cellular materials, sintered metal, porous polymers, and composite bearing substrates. This unique ability makes it particularly suitable for applications involving intricate or porous surfaces where uniform coverage is paramount. Beyond its ready-for-use form, BONDERITE® L-GP 2404 ACHESON's flexibility allows it to be diluted with various non-polar compounds, facilitating the creation of custom graphite-based penetrating fluids, lubricating oils, and liquified gases tailored to specific industrial needs. The lubricant also enables innovative options when blended with resins to engineer surface coatings that require dry lubricating characteristics. As a versatile and high-performing lubricant, it supports efficient operations across a wide range of temperatures and environmental conditions, reinforcing its position as a valuable asset for manufacturers seeking reliable and effective lubrication solutions. BONDERITE® L-GP 2404 ACHESON can be applied using brush, dip, spray, and roller coat techniques.

Graphite dispersion in solvent
Air dries to form a strong, adherent film
Dry film lubrication and parting across wide temperature range
Fine graphite particles impart lubrication of fine clearances
Fast and deep penetration of porous substrates
As a dry film lubricant, does not attract dirt of fluff
No "wicking" by paper, cotton, flour or other absorbent materials
Forms an opaque coating that can be burnished or calendered to a bright appearance
Graphite completely volatilizes to form a residue-free coating
Can be easily blended into other solvents and fluids
Low-viscosity
Easy to blend and apply
Slow-drying dry film lubricant
Poor penetration characteristics
Dry film degradation at high temperatures
"Sticky" dry film that leaves behind a residue that attracts dirt and fluff
Wear and galling on mating surfaces
Difficulty blending graphite into finished formulation
