Elvacite® 4359 is a methacrylate copolymer used as a film-forming resin in solvent-based coatings and as a modifier for UV-curable coatings and inks.
Elvacite® 4359 is a high–molecular weight methyl methacrylate polymer. It is used as a resin in solvent-based coatings where it provides high abrasion resistance, block resistance, and slip properties. This polymer’s high molecular weight contributes to forming films with excellent durability. Films formed have superior clarity and resistance to yellowing from UV exposure. They also exhibit great resistance to dilute acids and alkalis and moisture. Elvacite® 4359 is nonreactive with monomers typically used in UV-curable systems, where it effectively reduces shrinkage and controls viscosity.
