Dow PARALOID™EXL-2690 is an MBS impact modifier ideal for polycarbonate/polycarbonate-blend applications that require low-temperature performance and ease of processing.
Dow PARALOID™ EXL impact modifier additives increase the ductility of injection moldings, lower temperature toughness, and reduce melt viscosity for engineering resins. PARALOID™ EXL-2690 is a methacrylate butadiene styrene (MBS) impact modifier additive that provides superior strength and flexural modulus in polycarbonate and polycarbonate blends. PARALOID™ EXL rubber core-shell impact modifiers offer glass transition temperature benefits close to −80ºC for excellent impact performance at extremely low temperatures. PARALOID™ EXL-2690 incorporated into polycarbonate resin systems can experience improved impact strength even at temperatures of −50ºC at a 5% addition level. PARALOID™ EXL-2690 offers improved processing and aging stability compared to other competitive and generic MBS core-shell impact modifiers. It is produced by Dow using a special coagulation technique, which aids in producing an impact modifier with extremely low levels of impurities.
