PARALOID™ EXL 2314 is a highly efficient acrylic toughening agent for engineering resins tailored for various engineering polymers and their blends.
PARALOID™ EXL Additives increase the ductility of injection moldings, lower temperature toughness, and reduce melt viscosity for engineering resins. It is a specialty acrylic modifier that reacts with resin systems for significantly improved toughening, ideal for both weatherable and non-weatherable applications. PARALOID™ EXL 2314 offers high-efficiency benefits for a wide range of engineering resins and polymer blends. It also has toughening properties for crystalline PET (C-PET), which can be partially difficult due to the lack of compatibility between conventional impact modifiers. However, PARALOID™ EXL 2314 core-shell chemistry allows the modifier to be evenly dispersed during the slow crystallization of C-PET and provides the molded parts with fully ductile properties. It can be used for toughening low –molecular weight PBT and polyamide 6 (PA6), increasing the usefulness of acrylic modifiers to lower temperatures,. It can also improve the crack propagation behavior of thermosets like epoxy resins.
