EPOLENE® N-14P is a low–molecular weight polyethylene wax powder used as a wax modifier and mold release additive. It is also used as a dispersing aid in color masterbatches.
EPOLENE® N-14P is a powdered polyethylene wax polymer that is the same product as EPOLENE® N-14 but offered in powdered form for easier integration. It is most commonly used to modify the properties of natural and synthetic waxes and provide durability enhancements to coatings and inks used in packaging applications. For example, EPOLENE® N-14P is used in paper coatings and printing inks to increase scuff and rub resistance. This polymer can be easily melt blended with other waxes to increase abrasion resistance, tensile strength, and adhesion to fibrous substrates.
As the EPOLENE® N-14P polymer also promotes good wetting, it is useful in color masterbatches as a pigment-dispersing aid. This polymer also has a low coefficient of friction that enables it to be used as a processing aid and lubricant for rubber and plastic processing.
