Dianal BR-87
Dianal BR-87 is an acrylic resin used in ink and coating applications. It has a low molecular weight and high Tg.
Dianal BR-87 is a methyl methacrylate resin with a very high glass transition temperature (Tg) of 106°C and a relatively low molecular weight of 30,000. This resin is supplied as a free-flowing, nondusting bead that is soluble in solvents such as toluene, MEK, acetone, and ethyl acetate. Compared to other Dianal methyl methacrylate resins, BR-87 has a higher acid number to improve pigment dispersion. It provides value as a binder in ink and coating applications for plastic and metal substrates to form films with high hardness, adhesion, clarity, and excellent resistance to weathering, abrasion, moisture, and discoloration. BR-87 may also be used as a modifying resin for other Dianal resins to increase hardness, given its high Tg.
