Dianal BR-121DA
Dianal BR-121DA is a relatively high molecular weight acrylic resin used for achieving high adhesion of inks and coatings on metal substrates.
Dianal BR-121DA is a high–molecular weight acrylic resin designed for paint, coating, and ink applications for metal substrates. It is soluble in a range of solvents, including toluene, MEK, ethyl acetate, acetone, t-butyl acetate, n-butyl acetate, and PCBTF. BR-121 creates high-viscosity solutions and forms films with water-white clarity and fast solvent release.
With a molecular weight of 110,000 and glass transition temperature (Tg) of 65°C, Dianal BR-121 is mainly suited as a resin to create hard and durable paint, coating, and ink films. These films resist abrasion, attack from dilute acids and bases, weathering, and discoloration from UV exposure. A distinguishing trait of BR-121 is its ability to form films with excellent adhesion to metal substrates, such as cold rolled steel, zinc–phosphate steel, copper, and tin. These factors make it useful for creating industrial coatings, marine coatings, and coatings applied to machinery and equipment.
