Dianal BR-220
Dianal BR-220 is a relatively low molecular weight acrylic resin with high solubility and compatibility. It is used for flexographic inks and metal coatings.
Dianal BR-220 is a thermoplastic acrylic resin with a relatively low molecular weight. It is supplied as a nondusting solid bead that is soluble in solvents such as ketones, toluene, and glycol ethers. BR-220 is used to form films with excellent adhesion to metals and creates a high degree of flexibility while maintaining good hardness.
BR-220 is an ideal binder for flexographic inks, where it is compatible with most pigments and additives. With it measuring a 1 on the Gardner color scale, it is also used as a binder for clear coats that help protect bright metals, such as silver, copper, and brass. BR-220 produces durable films with high resistance to abrasion, chemical attack from dilute acids and bases, yellowing due to UV exposure, and weathering. This resin may be combined with nitrocellulose to improve drying speeds.
