Maleic anhydride modified PE coupling agent for glass and mineral filled systems.
POLYBOND™ 3009 is a coupling agent for filled PE systems that provides improved physical properties including strength and impact resistance. It provides good adhesion in film and sheet applications.
Appearance: Off-white pellet
Melt Flow Rate (@ 190°C): 5.0g/10 minutes
Maleic Anhydride Content: 0.8-1.2%
Density (@ 23°C): 0.95 g/cm³
Bulk Density: 0.6 g/cm³
Melting Point: 127 °C
Primary Chemistry: Ethylene-Hexene Copolymer
Low gel count makes this grade ideal for use as a coupling agent and adhesion promoter in sheet and film applications.
Improves strength and other physical properties when used as a coupling agent in glass or mineral-filled Polyethylene applications
Enhances hydrolytic stability and impact strength when used as a compatibilizer in polythethylene-polyamide blends
Some food contact approvals
Adhesion issues of polyethylenes to metals and polar substrates
Dispersion difficulties and incompatibility of polyethylene with glass and mica fillers
Insufficient adhesion of polyethylenes in sheet and film applications
Low impact and flexural strength in polyolefins and alloys
High moisture absorption in polyolefins and polyethylene alloys
Improves adhesion in sheet and film applications; improves hydrolytic stability in PE/nylon blends; improves impact strength in mineral-filled PE applications; improves strength in glass-filled PE applications
