Krytox™ XHT-BD Grease is an NLGI Grade 1.5, synthetic PFPE-based grease with a nonmelting thickener with very high thermal stability up to 300°C and spikes to 330°C. Its base oil viscosity is 500 cSt at 40°C.
Krytox™ XHT-BD Grease is a specially engineered high-performance lubricant for environments that experience extremely high temperatures. Krytox™ XHT-BD Grease uses a special nonmelting, high-temperature thickener with a very low evaporating base oil. This combination gives this Krytox™ grease the capacity to be used in applications under higher temperatures where common greases cannot be used due to their low melting points.
Krytox™ XHT-BD is nonflammable, oxygen safe, and chemically inert. It is designed for use in temperatures of 288°C (500°F) and higher, where there is a danger of melting standard PTFE thickeners. Since this grease is formulated using a special nonmelting, high-temperature thickener, Krytox™ XHT-BD also provides extreme-pressure properties and works as a solid lubricant, even when the base oil is depleted.

Krytox™ XHT-BD Grease can be used in low-speed bearings and pillow housings with shear at high speeds that traditionally causes loss of oil in sealed bearings. The base oil in Chemours Krytox™ XHT-BD can begin to slowly evaporate at temperatures above 330°C (626°F), and this rate will increase exponentially as temperatures increase.
