EPOLENE® DE-84P
EPOLENE® DE-84P is a low–molecular weight high-density polyethylene polymer used as an internal lubricant for PVC processing.
EPOLENE® DE-84P is an oxidized polyethylene polymer with high density. It features high hardness and low color and is most commonly used as an internal PVC lubricant. It is also used as an emulsifiable wax additive in water-based floor finishes, inks, and coatings. When used as a lubricant in processing PVC, it reduces friction and melt viscosity, making extrusion easier to conduct. It also provides anti-sticking properties similar to external lubricants that assist with lowering adhesion to dies. EPOLENE® DE-84P has excellent thermal stability, making it an effective lubricant for higher-temperature PVC processing conditions to prevent buildup on dies.
EPOLENE® DE-84P is also emulsifiable in water-based formulations, where it promotes stability and creates properties that improve durability. In ink and coating applications, for example, it increases scuff and rub resistance. When used in high-speed buffable floor finish emulsions, it enhances gloss and durability and prevents slipping.
