LUDOX® CL-X is an aqueous dispersion of monodisperse amorphous silica particles that are 22 nanometers. It is used to increase the coefficient of friction on paper, linerboard, and corrugated sheets.
LUDOX® CL-X is an alkaline, 45% solids dispersion of amorphous silica used primarily as a surface modifier to improve anti-slip properties on paper, paperboard, and linerboard. LUDOX® CL-X colloidal silica is formulated with ethylene glycol to make cleaning coating equipment easier. Compared to LUDOX® CL-P, which contains positively charged silica particles and an acidic pH that also increases the coefficient of friction on paper, LUDOX® CL-X contains negatively charged particles and basic pH. Therefore, it is more compatible with and recommended for mild steel coating equipment. When LUDOX® CL-X is applied to paper surfaces, it improves ink retention, increasing the print quality on paper surfaces.
