Viton™ VC-20 is a phosphonium salt-based bisphenol (BpAF) accelerator that controls the cure rate of fluoroelastomers containing VF2 and HFP monomers.
Chemours Viton™ VC-20 is an accelerator and curing agent based on 33% benzyl-triphenyl-phosphonium chloride (BTPPC) and 67% Viton™ fluoroelastomer polymer. Viton™ VC-20 controls the rate of curing A, B, and F types of Viton™ FKM fluoroelastomer rubber. Viton™ VC-20 contains a phosphonium-based accelerator and BpAF cross-linking agent that controls the cure rate. Viton™ VC-20 cross-linking agent improves production processes and enhances finished fluoroelastomer rubber polymers.
Viton™ VC-20 is used along with Viton™ VC-30 adjust the cure state and cure rate. Viton™ VC-20 cannot be used with PMVE-containing fluoroelastomer rubber. Viton™ VC-20 can further accelerate the cure rate of the curative containing precompounds while being used with Viton™ VC-50 in gum compounds to impart faster cure speeds.
Color: White to off-white
Form: Free-flowing pellets
Specific gravity: 1.50
Can be easily dispersed
Low cost compared to peroxide
Very effective as a curative by controlling the rate of curing
Can be used with all fluoroelastomers containing VF2 and HFP
Fast and controlled curing rate
High compression set
Reduces scorch
Slow curing and difficulties to control the cure rate of fluoroelastomers that contains VF2 and HFP monomers
Scorch and low compression resistance in the processing of FKM fluoroelastomer polymers
Accelerator and crosslinker for FKM polymers and rubber compounds
