WeylChem International’s phenothiazine (PTZ) prills are polymerization inhibitors in prill format, optimizing solubility and minimizing clumping and dusting.
PTZ prills are WeylChem International’s phenothiazine polymerization inhibitors offered in prill format. These inhibitors function as free radical scavengers and are typically used to improve reaction yields and provide stability for manufacturers who produce acrylic monomers, derivatives, and chemical intermediates. Unlike phenothiazine inhibitors offered in flakes, WeylChem International’s prills provide better particle-size uniformity, which leads to better solubility in reaction mixtures. These prills also have a higher bulk density, occupying less warehouse space in storage and permitting pneumatic transport for easier incorporation. Compared to dust and flake phenothiazine products, PTZ prills pose a greatly reduced risk for dust explosions.
In addition to providing polymerization inhibition, WeylChem International’s PTZ prills also function as antioxidants. For example, they may be used to provide longer-term stability to synthetic lubricants, piston-driven engine oils, and fluid-flow lubricants. PTZ prills also function as shortstopping agents in chloroprene production, where the molecular weight of compounds can be more finely tuned.
