FASCAT® 9102 catalyst is used in the synthesis of saturated polyester resins for powder coatings and coil coatings.
The FASCAT® 9102 catalyst is utilized to produce saturated polyester resins, specifically for powder coatings and coil coatings. This grade is commonly used to manufacture aromatic polyester polyols, which are essential for creating both flexible and rigid polyurethane foam. Additionally, it plays a crucial role in ring-opening polymerization, a process used to produce various types of polymers. FASCAT® 9102 is a versatile compound that finds application in producing plasticizers, such as dioctyl phthalate. It also exhibits excellent catalytic activity in transesterification reactions, with optimal performance observed within a temperature range of 80°C to 150°C, depending on the system.
FASCAT® 9102 is the FDA-approved food-grade variant of FASCAT® 4102. FASCAT® 9102 is a liquid catalyst known for its hydrolytic stability. It is commonly used to catalyze esterification and polycondensation reactions within a temperature range of 210°C to 240°C. The FASCAT® 9102 catalyst can be seamlessly integrated into the final product without impacting its quality, eliminating the need for removal.
