Viton™ VPA-1
Viton™ VPA-1 is a general-purpose process aid supplied in powder form used in molding all types of Viton™ fluoroelastomers.
Chemours Viton™ VPA-1 is a sulfur-containing aromatic wax used as a general-purpose process aid in all types of Viton™ fluoroelastomers for various molding and extrusion processes. Viton™ VPA-1 is particularly effective on mills that have ineffective cooling. It also provides smooth and uniform compounds, especially in rod-type preforms.
Viton™ VPA-1 can be premixed with other compounding ingredients and added to a batch. It has little or no effect on processing safety but has a slight activating effect when cured at 177 °C (351 °F). A slight bloom might be noted on preforms and press-cured articles, which disappear during the oven post-cure.
Viton™ VPA-1 is typically recommended at a loading rate of 0.5–2.0 phr.
