DOWFROST™ HD is a yellow-dyed, industrial-grade inhibited propylene glycol (PG) thermal fluid for heat transfer applications between −45°C and 160°C (−50°F and 325°F).
DOWFROST™ HD inhibited propylene glycol (PG) is comprised of about 94% PG and 6% corrosion inhibitors. DOWFROST™ HD (heavy duty) has a lower PG composition to allow for a higher concentration of corrosion inhibitors for maximum protection and rust prevention. These additional components do not compromise toxicity fluid and provide enhanced corrosion protection that is unsurpassed in the industry.
DOWFROST™ HD has a fluorescent-yellow color and can operate at higher temperatures than regular DOWFROST™. DOWFROST™ HD is suitable for use in environments between −50°F and 325°F (−45°C and 160°C).
DOWFROST™ HD is intended for low-toxicity, non-food processing applications and provides freeze protection down to −60°F.
DOWFROST™ HD is available in a range of prediluted concentrations and package sizes.

DOWFROST™ HD is an ideal thermal fluid for a broad variety of heat transfer applications across a range of industries and applications, including but not limited to the following:
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
Chill water and hydronic heating loops
Geothermal (ground source heat pumps)
Snow melt and turf heating systems
Solar hot-water heating
Firewater sprinkler systems
Refrigeration
Ice skating rinks
Large-scale chiller systems
Cold storage, refrigerated warehouses, and supermarkets (secondary loop)
Thermal energy storage (TES)
Heat transfer systems are designed to recover, transfer, and retain heat – this is especially important for systems subjected to extreme cold weather. Learn how the Dow thermal fluids provide freeze and burst protection for winter weather environments.
There are many glycol-based thermal fluids available in the market, but the so-called bargain homebrew solutions carry many hidden costs. Save yourself thousands in repair and fluid costs and learn the true value of the DOWFROST™ brands.
