The company also offers expertise in vapor phase and liquid phase catalytic hydrogenation processing, and is the largest worldwide furan and furfurylamine producer, and the only U.S. producer of furan, furfurylamine, and furfuryl alcohol. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, Penn A Kem was founded in 1999 by a group of experienced chemical industry executives, including former key employees from Freedom Chemical Company, ARCO Chemical Company, and Lyondell Chemical Company.
