DIABEAM™ UM-1273U is part of Mitsubishi's UM coating series as a UV-curable undercoat for metal vapor deposition. It should be used to adhere to aluminum, tin, and indium, as well as plastic substrates such as ABS, PC (polycarbonate), and PMMA. Its application areas include automotive exterior and interiors like ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems), meter rings, switches, and radar. It is applied as a physical vapor deposition spray. DIABEAM™ UM-1273U gives good appearance and humidity resistance while maintaining a thin, strongly bonded coating of 10–20 μm.
