Krytox™ XHT-500 is a specially engineered PFPE-based oil (500 cSt, 40°C) for extreme-high-temperature applications up to 572°F with NSF H1 certification.
Krytox™ XHT-500 Oil is a highly engineered perfluoropolyether (PFPE) based synthetic oil with low evaporation rates for extreme thermal stability and long-lasting lubrication performance. With a base oil viscosity of 500 cSt at 40°C, Krytox™ XHT-500 has an estimated useful temperature range of −20°C to 300°C (−4°F to 572°F).
Krytox™ XHT-500 is a nonflammable and completely nonreactive performance lubricant for incredibly harsh environments. Krytox™ XHT-500 meets food contact approval listed under NSF H1.

Krytox™ XHT-500 is a high-performance PFPE-base oil for a wide variety of specialty lubrication applications at high temperatures. The base oil will begin to slowly evaporate at temperatures exceeding 330°C and may require relubrication for optimum equipment life.
Krytox™ XHT-500 Oil allows longer equipment shelf life and extends the lubrication interval for equipment. At temperatures above 300°C, it can begin to evaporate slowly. The rate at which the oil evaporates will increase as the temperature increases from 300°C. At these extreme temperatures, relubrication may be required to achieve optimum life. Krytox™ oils can easily coat metallic surfaces with little or no adverse effects due to their low surface tensions and inertness. Testing metals at 300°C in the absence of air has shown little evidence of corrosion. In the presence of air, corrosion was slightly higher. The presence of molybdenum in the metals improved corrosion resistance.
