Lupasol® SK is a solution of modified polyethyleneimine in water that is used for flocculating pulp and paper fines in paper manufacturing operations.
Lupasol® SK is large molecular weight, aqueous, polyethyleneimine solution. The high cationic charge density of Lupasol® SK makes it a very effective flocculant for the coagulation of negatively charged particles. Lupasol® SK is soluble in water as well as most polar organic solvents and can be easily diluted to the desired working concentration. Lupasol® SK is available commercially in drums and totes as a yellow, turbid liquid containing 24% actives.

Fixing agent in hair treatment products
FDA 176.170 approved component of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty foods
FDA 176.180 approved component of paper and paperboard in contact with dry food
High cost of paper associated with rising pulp prices.
Low retention of pulp and fillers used in paper manufacturing.
Poor mechanical strength of paper.
Contamination of wastewater from papermaking process with paper fines.
Lupasol® SK is most commonly used in paper manufacturing applications to increase paper strength by increasing pulp retention and flocculating fines in waste streams for recycling.
Lupasol® SK is approved by the FDA as a component of paper and paperboard that comes into contact with aqueous & fatty foods as well as dry food.
In addition to it's use in paper, Lupasol® SK can be used to bind most anionic materials.
This is a useful characteristic in many applications including coatings, water treatment, adhesives, cosmetics, personal care, and drug development.
Lupasol® polyethyleneimine from BASF is used to flocculate anionic particles from waste water. Lupasol® can also be used in combination with ultrafiltration to remove heavy metals from waste streams.
