Aurorium Citroflex™ A-4, also called Acetyl Tri-n-butyl Citrate, is a widely used plasticizer in children's toys and food-contact applications for its green profile and safety.
Aurorium Citroflex™ A-4 citrate plasticizer provides many improvements over di-butyl phthalate in cellulose nitrate films, including lower volatility, better resistance to yellowing, and better adhesion to metals.
Citroflex™ A-4 citrate additives are effective in solution coating for both paperboard and foil. Citroflex™ A-4 citric acid esters are also used as plasticizers for bioplastics such as polylactic acid, cellulose acetate, and poly hydroxyalkanoic acid. The citric acid esters with lower molecular weight (Citroflex™ C-2, A-2, C-4, and A-4) have plasticization characteristics like those of the lower molecular weight phthalates, adipates, and sebacates in a variety of polymers.

Aurorium Citroflex™ plasticizers offer low toxicity, high flash points, and rapid biodegradability for cellulosic derivatives and natural resins.
Citroflex™ provides a wide range of benefits and excellent for use as plasticizers in aqueous- and solvent-based polymers, including acrylics, cellulosic polymers, vinyl acetates, vinyl, and urethane polymer systems.
Aurorium Citroflex™ citric acid esters are commonly known as plastics additives, but they are also highly effective coalescing agents in paints and coating formulations.
