CELLOSIZE™ QP-100MH is a high molecular weight, hydroxyethylcellulose polymer. It is used as a thickener in water based coatings, inks, and adhesives
CELLOSIZE QP-100MH is a water soluble hydroxyethylcellulose polymer. It is a very good thickener for water-based formulations and it's efficiency is unmatched by any other hydrocolloid. CELLOSIZE QP-100MH is surface treated to delay the rate of hydration when the polymer is added to water. This allows for complete dispersion of the polymer and the development of a lump free solution. The high molecular weight of CELLOSIZE™ QP-100MH Hydroxyethylcellulose lends to high solution viscosity. A viscosity of 4400-6000 cps is achievable with just 1% in water. This makes CELLOSIZE™ QP-100MH an ideal thickener for latex systems where the water soluble components must be kept to a minimum. In addition, CELLOSIZE™ QP-100MH is highly thixotropic. This allows for high viscosity formulations that are easy to be applied and spread. Adhesives thickened with CELLOSIZE QP-100MH Hydroxyethylcellulose are easily workable but still have excellent cling to vertical and overhead surfaces. The specifications of CELLOSIZE™ QP-100MH is are tightly controlled when compared to hydrocolloids like guar and xanthan gum. This allows for better consistency and performance from batch to batch.
