Tyzor® NPT, titanium tetrapropanolate
Tyzor® NPT is a highly reactive alkoxy titanate that is used as a paint additive to cross link functional polymers. It can also be used to coat glass.
Tyzor® NPT is a 100% actives, tetra-n-propyl titanate liquid. It is highly sensitive to moisture and will decompose rapidly in water. Tyzor® NPT is used in paints to cross link polymers and binder with hydroxyl and carboxyl functionality. This improves dried film durability, promotes better adhesion, and allows for faster drying times. Tyzor® NPT can also be used to treat glass, metal, and plastics to promote adhesion, increase surface hardness, add coloring effects, and increase heat & light reflection. In olefin polymerization, Tyzor® NPT acts as a metal catalyst in Ziegler-Natta reactions. It can also be used as a catalyst in addition, condensation, and esterification reactions as a less toxic replacement for tin and organostannanes.
