Bostik® 940A is an innovative marine-grade sealant engineered with exceptional resistance to water, weathering, and UV exposure, allowing for use in applications both above and below the waterline. It cures with moisture, with an open time of 45 minutes.
Bostik® 940A is a high-performance sealant for marine applications that is formulated with a silyl modified polymer (SMP) with excellent flexibility and durability in harsh environments, such as saltwater and extended UV exposure. Bostik® 940A combines the strength of urethane with the elasticity of silicone. It is designed for demanding bonding and sealing applications both above and below the waterline, such as sealing deck hardware, hull fittings, rub rails, and portholes in marine applications.
Bostik® 940A presents a slower skin-forming time of 35 minutes and an open time of approximately 45 minutes that provides an extended working time for larger applications requiring workability. Bostik® 940A successfully adheres to a range of substrates, bonding to aluminum, steel, zinc, brass, copper, glass, PVC, EPDM rubber, and more. As a moisture-curing adhesive, Bostik® 940A cures well in extreme conditions, withstanding temperatures from −40°F to 230°F (−40°C to 110°C) while resisting weathering, UV, and more.
