ADCOTE™ L86-145
ADCOTE™ L86-145 is a two component polyurethane adhesive system that is used in the production of sterilizable and boil-proof laminates.
ADCOTE™ L86-145 is one component of a 2K polyurethane adhesive system that produces high strength bonds with remarkable heat, chemical and moisture resistance. It is recommended to be used with an isocyanate coreactant like C-33 or ADCOTE™ 811B. The heat and chemical resistance of ADCOTE™ L86-145 make it an ideal laminating adhesive for the production of multilayer films used in autoclave, steam sterilization, and retort packaging applications.

Applications
ADCOTE™ L86-145 is used in the production of high temperature laminations that are useful in food and medical packaging. Some of the most common end use applications for laminates produced using ADCOTE™ L86-145 are hot fill, boil-in bag, and steam sterilizable packaging. ADCOTE™ L86 is recommended for both film to film and film to foil laminations and can be used to bond metallized films, PET, treated PE, and silicon dioxide coated films. The ADCOTE™ L86-145 adhesive system is recommended to be applied at 25-35% solids by reverse gravure, direct gravure, or with a smooth roller system. The system can be diluted to a working solids concentration with MEK, EAc, or acetone. ADCOTE™ L86 should be applied at a coating weight of 1.5 - 5.0 g/m² and for good lamination bonds a nip temperature of 60 - 90°C should be maintained. Slitting and rewind of laminates produced with ADCOTE™ L86-145 is possible after 12- 24 hours and full cure properties are achieved after 2 days at 45°C or 7 days at 25°C.
