HiTEC® 4566 is a cold flow improver for diesel fuels that eliminates the requirement for blending diesel with kerosene. It is specifically designed to enhance fuel stability and performance in cold-weather conditions. HiTEC® 4566 inhibits the growth of wax formation and gelling that can occur at low temperatures. By effectively preventing the crystallization of paraffin wax within diesel, this additive ensures smoother engine operation and improved fuel efficiency. Its unique formulation eliminates the requirement for kerosene, providing a more economical and environmentally friendly solution for maintaining diesel fluidity. This becomes particularly beneficial in regions where low temperatures can severely impact fuel operability.

At low temperatures, diesel fuel can undergo a problematic transformation known as wax crystal formation, which can significantly inhibit flow. Diesel contains paraffin wax, a natural component that remains dissolved at higher temperatures. However, when temperatures drop, this wax solidifies and forms crystals, leading to gelling in the fuel. This crystallization process not only disrupts the fuel's ability to flow smoothly through filters and fuel lines but can also result in engine performance issues or complete vehicle inoperability in extreme cases.
