Sulfolane-A
Sulfolane A is a white odorless, crystalline cyclic organic chemical commonly used as a solvent for extractive distillation and chemical reactions. CAS N: 126-33-0
Widely used in the extraction of aromatic hydrocarbons and to purify natural gas, Sulfolene has also proven to be effective in separating high purity aromatic compounds from hydrocarbon mixtures using liquid-liquid extraction. Such a process is mostly used in refineries and the petrochemical industry.
Furthermore, Sulfolane A can be used in the pharmaceutical industry as an intermediate or process solvent due to the good thermal stability, miscibility in water, high boiling point and versatility. At the same time Tetramethylene Sulfolene is used for the production of Jet Print Ink, in ink composition and direct printing.
Last but not least Sulfolane A is also used as a solvent in Lithium Batteries between the anodes. As well as a intensifier for increasing the colourfastness of dispersed dyes that are applied to hydrophobic synthetic fibers.
