Ti-Pure™ R-104 Titanium Dioxide
Ti-Pure™ R-104 Titanium Dioxide is a white, dry fine chloride-processed rutile TiO2 pigment manufactured by chloride process created to give melt flow with highly loaded thermoplastics masterbatches into plastic applications such as rigid and flexible packaging, compostable rigid and flexible plastic applications, reflective films and thermoplastic masterbatches.
Ti-Pure™ R-104 Titanium Dioxide is a chloride-processed titanium dioxide designed for use in most thermoplastic packaging applications such as lotion bottles, candy wrappers, t shirt bags, frozen food packages, etc. TiO2 R-104 provides an integrated solution that delivers the necessary product performance characteristics including brighter cleaner whites, higher throughput rates, exceptional processibility and superior high temperature performance.
Ti-Pure™ R-104 provides opacity and whiteness beyond industry standards, while its carefully controlled particle size results in a very blue undertone to yield a cleaner, bluer white. At the same time, Ti-Pure™ R-104 titanium dioxide achieves lower masterbatch viscosities, allowing the compounder greater flexibility to use a variety of more economical resins to match processing conditions, by minimizing the effect on the melt properties of masterbatches. Moreover, TiO2 from Ti-Pure™ R-104 “wets” easily into resins and is readily incorporated. This results in up to 25% faster throughput than other general-purpose grades of titanium dioxide and greater flexibility at a variety of pigment loadings. Lastly, R-104 Titanium dioxide prevents defects in high temperature processes, such as extrusion coating and cast film applications.
Ti-Pure™ R-104 offers an ultimate dispersion performance in comparison to conventional pigments as demonstrated with its extreme low screen pack retention values, resulting in easier downstream processing and greater product uniformity. Also, In Film applications, R-104 titanium dioxide from Ti-Pure™ is so well dispersed that it is virtually invisible and fully integrated into the resin, differently than general purpose titanium dioxide that leaves its tracks and marks in the finished product.
