SP-6700 is a thermoplastic phenolic resin that is excellent for use in reinforcing rubber goods
SP-6700 is a novolak thermoplastic resin that uses hexamethylenetetramine (Hexa) in its manufacturing, but it is Hexa-free to avoid scorching issues. It is designed for use in rubber applications to eliminate scorch tendencies in high-temperature mills or Banbury mixing.
SP-6700 is ideal for high-temperature compounding cycles where the early presence of hexamethylenetetramine (hexa) could result in scorching.
In Banbury operations, hexa is added to the stock on the sheet off the mill. If you are experiencing scorching, SP-6700 is an ideal choice for its rapid cure, heat resistance, and inert chemical chemistry.
With three to five percent hexa, SP-6700 resin cures to semi-flexible materials and neoprene stocks. In rubber compounding cycles, hexa should be added as the last compounding ingredient and at the end of the mixing cycle.
