BELLEVUE, Washington & NORTH CHICAGO, Illinois, September 4, 2008 – Univar, a world leader in chemical distribution, today announced that it has sold its Mozel packaging business and facility in Columbia, Illinois to EMCO Chemical Distributors, Inc.

Mozel provides quality, custom packaging and blending of chemical raw materials for the coatings, adhesives, sealants and plastics industries. It became part of the Univar family during the acquisition of Ellis & Everard in 2001.

Univar has integrated Mozel’s distribution business into its industrial chemical business over the past several years. The decision to sell the remaining Mozel packaging business is part of Univar’s strategic decision to focus on its core business of chemical distribution.

EMCO is one of the premier contract blending and packaging providers in the United States. The acquisition allows EMCO to expand geographically and strategically combines two separate facilities with contract blending and packaging services to the same industries. No customer disruption is anticipated during the transition. Mozel will keep its name under the new ownership.
